Introduction
What is the price of beer in Prague? The most important question to ask if you’re looking to book a boozy weekend away to the most popular City in Europe for drinking and having a good time. Prague has everything when it comes to night time activities and if you want to explore this in more detail I have made a list of the best bars ion Prague for the perfect Prague pub crawl, but for now, we will look at how much you are going to need to take with you to ensure you can drink until you can drink no more!
Prague Prices And Currency
Prague is up there with being one of the cheapest Cities in Europe and you can REALLY get your moneys worth!
The average night out, isn’t really a night out. When I say night, I mean start around 1pm and finishing around 3am! That’s a lot of drinking hours! And could amount to a lot of money spent! Thankfully you will get your moneys worth in Prague!
The currency in Prague is Czech Koruna, meaning they do not use Euros as their main currency, which also means the exchange rate is really decent!
Nothing is expensive in Prague. We managed to get a really decent steak dinner with 4 drinks each for under £50 for two people! I couldn’t believe it! So rest assured that you are in for a treat with the price of beers in Prague!

Beer prices
Ok on to the important part.
The average price of beer in Prague is 35 CSK (Czech Crowns) for a pint (500 ml or 0.5 litre) – Note that they don’t measure in pints in Prague, but litres instead! This means the average beer will cost around £1.20!! In euros this currently around 1.30 Euros, for dollars in is around $1.62! Mental right!!!!!
Imagine how many beers you can drink with these prices!! This is why Prague is one of my favourite Cities. Not just because of the price of beer in Prague though, its also because its a beautiful City with amazing night life too!!!
I really do recommend you check out my blog best bars in Prague too! There is no shameless plug involved, it just gives you such a great bar crawl plan, and I am assuming, if you’re asking what the price of beer of Prague is then you are probably going to want to know where to go to have a good time.

Percentage Of Beers
One thing to note if you are about to get your drink on in Prague is how they measure the strength of beer. Knowing this as well as the price of beer in Prague will hep you monitor the amount of wasted you would like to get.
Beer is not measured in percentage in Prague, its measured in Degrees (The gravity/density of the beer). This means a beer that would be 4.5/5% in the UK will be around a gravity of 11-12 in Prague. So if you’re looking for a strong beer, go for a gravity of around 13 -20, this is going to give you a percentage of between 5.5 and 7.5%.
I fell victim to this on my first day in Prague when I ordered a bucket of beer to be in my hotel room on arrival! Check the gravity……they can be really strong!
Pilsner is the most widely know beer in Prague so if you’re not sure….stick with that.
A lot of bars have sample beers as well and will bring you a paddle of 6 beers of different strengths and colour to sample. This can be a fun and a good way to figure out what suits your taste. Maybe do this first and you can figure out what your taste is.
