today we are going to look at the best bars in Shoreditch. London is a great place to go for drinks and a good time and when it comes to bars, Shorditch is well up there with the best ones! Its not as central as some of the other drinking spots in London like Soho but its worth the visit.
From secret bars to ball pit bars, Shoreditch really does have something for everyone and I am going to give you a low down on some of the best bars in Shoreditch. If you’re looking for the perfect pub crawl guide…..look no further!
Old Street Records
350 -354 Old St, London EC1V 9NQ
There is no better place to start the guide to the best bars in Shoreditch than at Old Street Records. You will find this bar right in the heart of the Shoreditch nightlife.
We visited late afternoon and things were just starting to get going.
As soon as I walked in I knew this was a bit of me.
The bar is decorated with hundreds, if not thousands of old vinyls to take you down memory lane and it has a real cool industrial, almost gentleman’s club type theme. It also loves a bit of neon. It is dark and moody with low lighting and feels very cosy.
The music is right up my street with a mix of grunge, indie and rock. I literally didn’t want to leave as every time I tried, another banger would come on!
Drinks prices are decent and the atmosphere is great! Come the evening time it gets busy and you may find yourself having to wait to get in.
Its a party vibe where people come to drink, dance and play air guitar!
Cirque
Next up, we have Cirque. I added this one next as it is right opposite to Old Street records.
I was attracted to this bar instantly (If you hadn’t already guessed, I love a quirky bar!) due to its theme.
Its hard to describe the theme of this bar as its a little mix of everything. Think dressed up taxidermy meets your nans living room, meets circus.
The good thing about this bar is its free entry….hard to find on a Saturday night in Shoreditch!
It has a small upstairs bar but a bigger seating/dancing area downstairs.
They do 2 -4 -1 cocktails and have a good selection of drinks on offer.
They also have DJ’s playing every Saturday too.
This is a great bar for a quick drink or an evening of fun and is why its made the list of the best bars in Shoreditch.
Barrio Shoreditch
141-143 Shoreditch High St, London E1 6JE
just a short walk from Cirque you will find Barrio. This is actually one of my favourite bars in Shoreditch, not just because of the cool decor and great food, but also because of the service.
I think this is one of the best experiences of good service I have had in Shoreditch and it really does make all the difference. The staff could not have been more attentive if they tried.
Barrio is a Latin/South American themed bar with really good indoor and outdoor seating. They have really made the effort to carry the vibe through to the outside and it really works. I cant wait to come back here in the summer and chill out all afternoon in their outdoor seating area. It’s full of colour, plants, flowers and murals.
Inside you will find the theme continues. We got to sit in one of the best seating areas, the converted caravan. Its a really cool seating area, great for groups and events.
The other seating areas were just as great and this is a pretty large premises so shouldn’t be too hard to get into on a weekend evening.
This is also the perfect place to stop and fill your tummies.
The tacos here are delicious and taste just the same as the ones I had in Mexico. I was very excited when I tasted them.
They also do 2-4-1 drinks which includes cocktails. I had a mojito and it was yummy!
They play music that fits the theme and there was a stage area for live entertainment.
I cant wait to come back and enjoy the sunshine and pretend I am on holiday.
Certainly one of the best bars in Shoreditch!
London Cocktail Club
12, 29 Sclater St, London E1 6HR
A seven minute walk from Barrio is another one of the best bars in Shoreditch – London cocktail Club. This is where things get lit!
This place is really popular and we were lucky to get in at the time we arrived.
Once inside we headed downstairs and it was rammed! This was on a Thursday night too!
We were greeted by the best party music, I was dancing away before we even reached the bar, and the bartenders having the best time too. the lights were ‘literally’ swinging and EVERYONE was having a great time dancing away.
The decor was really funky…. another circus themed bar, although I couldn’t see much of it at the time we went, and ill be honest….I was a little bit tipsy by this point. What I do remember though, is having a great time!!! Chatting and dancing away with random people.
Obviously this place wouldn’t be called the London Cocktail club if it didn’t have really bloody good cocktails and they add a little twist to some classics, so I would highly recommend checking them out.
They also do 2-4-1 cocktails every day until 7pm and I would encourage you to take advantage of this if you can! You won’t be disappointed!
Breakfast Club Spitalfields

Why is the Breakfast Club on the list of best bars in Shoreditch I hear you ask………..?
Well, not only do they do THE BEST Disco fries around! (seriously, check them out, they are amazing!) and you can sit and have a beer and a munch, there is also more than meets the eye in this special little Diner in Spitalfields.
